"Chronic Pain Management for Physical Therapists provides a much needed contribution to the body of literature on chronic pain and is especially appropriate for the physical therapy community, as the title implies. Each of the 12 chapters focuses on a different but important aspect of chronic pain, with topics such as the physiology of pain, medication management, physical therapy interventions, neural blockade procedures, behavioral medicine, and documentation. With such diversity of subject matter, the editors and authors should be commended for the quality of the material presented. Each topic is briefly covered but well researched, with numerous references provided for readers who want additional information... This text ends with a suggested pain curriculum for student therapists, which is very thorough and would be helpful to instructors in educational programs. However, the book would be an excellent student text or practitioner reference as well. I would definitely recommend it as a permanent addition to the libraries of all who interact with this special population."Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy
