A problem-based learning approach is used in this new book new wound care. The book is a valuable resource whether the approach taken is teaching the subject as 'pure' PBL, a hybrid approach, or where a more traditional approach is being taken. Its strengths lie in fostering skills which enable the reader to access knowledge from many sources and to solve complex clinical problems, which they may encounter in practice. The text can be used by teachers as the basis of interactive small group work, in both higher education and practice settings. It can also be used by health care professionals for individual, independent learning. It should be regarded as as a spring board to encouraging self-directed, lifelong learning in an ever changing and clinically challenging field.
